CLAREMORE, Okla. - Roy Jean (Stamper) Bennitt, 57, of Claremore, formerly of Winfield and Sedan, died Sept. 27, 2000, at William Newton Memorial Hospital in Winfield.
Services were to be at 10 a.m. today at Stumpff Funeral Home in Bartlesville. The Rev. Larry Boyer officiated. Burial was in Dewey Cemetery.

Bennitt was born Dec. 2, 1942, in Murphy, N.C., to Iva Jean (Sneed) and Roy Stamper. In 1956 the family moved to Bartlesville where she graduated from College High School in 1960. She attended Bartlesville Business College and was employed by Phillips Petroleum Co. in Bartlesville and later at Telex in Tulsa.
On April 10, 1971, she married Craig A. Bennitt in Bartlesville. They made their home in Sedan where she was self-employed and was also a district magistrate judge. She operated her oil business in Bartlesville and in 1989 moved to Winfield where she was the administrative assistant to the district judge.
The Bennitts moved to Claremore in 1998. She was a charter member of the Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Craig A. Bennitt, Claremore; a son, Keith B. Avery, Inola, Okla.; a daughter, Cra L. Bennitt, Claremore; her mother, Iva Jean Stamper Raymon, Sedan; two sisters, Linda Blevins and Dana Smith, both of Bartlesville; seven brothers, Harold Stamper, Stillwater, Okla., Richard Stamper, Sand Springs, Okla., Jack Stamper, Sun City, Ariz., Gary Stamper, Bixby, Okla., Ken Stamper, Ardmore, Okla., and Jim Stamperand Jerry Stamper, both of Tulsa; and three grandchildren.
