Mike Smith
After graduating from Col-Hi I attended the University of Kansas where I was a Sigma Chi. After that graduation I attended law school at the University of Oklahoma graduating in 1967. For nearly 40 years I was a trial lawyer. At the age of 63, I retired from my law firm, Smith, Shew, Scrivner, Corbin & Watts in Ada, Oklahoma. As a second career I became nationally certified as a Personal Trainer. I donate all fees to East Central University where I work as a Personal Trainer for their Wellness Center.
My wife of 42 years, Karen, and I live on a ranch south of Ada where we raised our 3 sons, Steve, David and Brian. We have one granddaughter, Kaitlyn. Karen and I are very active in our country church and both of us teach bible studies on campus. My class is for athletes on Wednesday nights which I have done for 12 years and Karen's class is for college girls on Monday nights which she has done for 7 years. We both mentor students.
My hobbies are fly fishing, turkey hunting and I ride motorcycles on long, cross-country road trips 3 times a year with a "gang" of close friends. My fly fishing group has lasted 40 years. My favorite quote is "Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans".
