After graduation from Col-Hi, I continued my education and graduated from OU in 1964. I married my wife, Frances Tabor, in 1963 in Tulsa and Ralph Rucker was my best man. When Ralph asked me for the ring 30 minutes before the ceremony, I remembered I had left it in my suit pocket which was unfortunately still in Bartlesville. Ralph and I jumped in a car and sped to and from Bartlesville (on the old 75 highway through Vera) just in time to be 30 minutes late for the wedding. We have just celebrated our 47th anniversary. We were blessed with 3 boys, Bart (45), Ted (42) and Jay (33). They have all married wonderful girls and have given us 4 grandchildren so far.
I began my career with IBM and am now retired from there; however, I decided that I still need to keep busy so Frances and I have established a store called Own Duck Club Gallery in Fayetteville, AR. We have become quite the pros in the framing department along with doing |

a variety of other things at our store. You need to come visit sometime and find out what those variety of things really are.
My favorite teachers were: Jim Klewer (English), Dorothy Newkirk (French) and Donald Smith (Physics). The teacher I feared most was: Miss Fender (Math). Stories that I could tell that my parents did not know about: Sorry, cannot tell them, my mom is still alive and very alert. A funny story about a couple of classmates later in life: I called Ralph Rucker and his wife, Sherry, and asked them to join us at Big Cedar in Arkansas to celebrate our 40th anniversary. I brought the last of 2 bottles of champagne given to us by Ralph at our wedding. We thought it would be appropriate to open it at the 40th with them. I opened the bottle on the balcony and the cork went flying. I poured each of us a glass and we took a sip - oh, my, I must tell you that champagne changes to vinegar after 40 years - Not good! Sherry suggested that we should keep the cork for posterity so we went down and spent a great deal of time looking for it but never found it. Such is life!!!
