Roy Putnam

Roy David Putnam, 73, passed on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at his home.

He was born January 2, 1942 in Oklahoma City. Roy previously lived in Bristow before the family moved to Bartlesville where Roy graduated from College High School in 1961. After serving in the Navy, Roy worked for McDonnell Douglas, American Airlines and Phillips Research Center before founding Putnam Enterprises, owning and operating various oil leases. He also owned and operated the Business Inn Industrial Park. An avid admirer and owner of hot rods and classics, he loved traveling, oldies music and a good tottie or two while overlooking the Hillcrest Country Club golf course.

Roy is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Phyllis (Moore), stepson, Travis Moore of Afton, step grandsons, Cody and Chris Moore, Ian Holtz of Bartlesville, step granddaughters Lauren and Hannah Moore of Stanton, IL, beloved sister, Mary (Putnam) Cox and husband Jerry Cox of Bartlesville, brothers, Les Putnam and wife Loma of Independence, Missouri, John Putnam and wife Glenda of Cordova, TN, various cousins, aunts and uncles, nephews and nieces, great nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father Charles Leslie Putnam, mother Lois Gibson Putnam brother, Bob Putnam and nephew, Dennis Cox.
