Kelly Daniel Owens, 62, of Oklahoma City, OK, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 4, 2004, after a short illness. He is survived by one son and daughter in law, Casey and Kari Owens, of Oklahoma City, OK, and their children, Morgan, Ashley and Connor; one daughter and son in law, Kristi and Randy Tidwell, of Bethany, OK, and their children, Bailee, Tyler, Brady and Trevor; his parents, R.A. and Naomi Owens of Prague, OK; three sisters, Kaye Spinazzola of Chandler, OK, Kerry and Russell Plum of Paden, OK, and Kyla and Danny Miller of Oklahoma City, OK; one brother, Kirk Owens, of Oklahoma City, OK; six nephews and one niece. He was born on November 6, 1941, in Hennessey, OK, at his grandparents' home. He graduated from Bartlesville High School in 1960. |

From 1965-71 he worked as an aviation mechanic at Aero-Commander in Bethany, OK. During this time he also served in the Army National Guard, in 1971, he joined the Oklahoma City Police Department where he served for 27 years until he retired in 1998. He was highly respected and admired by his fellow officers. After retirement, he spent his winters in Mission, TX, where he loved to golf, watch birds and spend time outdoors. Those who knew Kelly best knew his talent for painting Indian scenes and military aircraft and drawing cartoons. He was also well-known for his sense of humor. He also enjoyed spoiling his seven grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and many, many friends. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday at the Northwest Baptist Church, in Oklahoma City.
