Word has been received of the death of Frank A. McKinney, 43, of Enid and former Bartlesville resident. McKinney was born Jan. 21, 1942 in Enid and grew up in Bartlesville, graduating from high school here in 1960. He went on to graduated from Oklahoma State University and returned to Enid in 1973.
He joined the family music business in Bartlesville in 1964, and later owned and operated another music store in Muskogee. McKinney moved to Enid in 1973, after his father, L.A. McKinney, and brother, Phil McKinney, purchased the Chenoweth and Greene Music Company. The Enid firm was established in 1926 by McKinney's great-uncle and grandfather. McKinney was president of the firm for 12 years, until his death.

McKinney was a 12-year rnernber of the Tri-State Music Festival board of trustees, a member of the National Association of Music Merchants and the Community Band of Enid. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Virginia Turner, Tulsa; two brothers: Mark McKinney, Tulsa, and Phil McKinney, Enid; a sister, Ann Pollard, Tulsa; a niece and four nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Frank McKinney music scholarship fund, established at OSU, in care of the Fossett Funeral Home in Enid.
