I was born in Bartlesville and attended Jefferson and Limestone grade schools, Central Junior High, and, of course, College High. I attended OU and TU and graduated from Phillips University. I married Jan LaVal from Joplin in 1966. I joined the Air Force in September 1966 and served in the Air Weather Service. For most of my 4-year enlistment I was stationed at Offutt AFB in Nebraska. During that time our 2 sons, Rob and Brad, were born. We moved to Broken Arrow,OK in 1970. I worked in public relations and publishing, retiring from the editorial staff of the Oil and Gas Journal in 2005. |

Over the years we have owned a gift shop in Broken Arrow and dabbled in buying and selling antiques. Jan sells a variety of items on E-Bay and my brother and I have operated an on-line used and rare book business for the past 13 years.
Besides our sons, Rob and Brad, we have one grand-daughter, Katie, and one great grand-daughter, Szamara. Jan and I have been members of the First United Methodist Church of Broken Arrow for many years and are active in The Walk to Emmaus, a spiritual renewa organization sponsored by the Upper Room in Nashville. |
