Tom Hull
After I graduated from Col-Hi I joined the U.S. Navy and after boot camp, I spent 6 months at the Naval Air Station at El Centro, CA. From there I went to San Diego for a 24 week Gunnery Fire Control School and then to a 13-week Mark 25 Gunnery Fire Control Radar School. I reported aboard the destroyer USS Blue DD-744 for a 2 ½ year tour of duty. The first 6 months my ship and the other 3 destroyers in our division, plus another division of destroyers and the aircraft carrier USS Bennington, formed an anti-submarine hunter-killer group which operated all over the northern Pacific Ocean. After this our division became the Far East Destroyer Division based in Yokosuka, Japan. We visited and operated off of Japan, Korea, Okinawa, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Philippines and off the coast of Vietnam.
I separated from the Navy in October of 1963 and began pharmacy school in January of 1964. I attended the School of Pharmacy at Southwestern Oklahoma State University at Weatherford, OK. I finished the 5 year course in 4 ½ years and 2 summer schools. Also during this time I completed my 6 year enlistment by being in the inactive Navy Reserves while in Pharmacy School. After graduation in '68 I went to work for Walgreen's in Tulsa for 20 years. In May of '88 I went to work for Med-X for 9 years and then switched to Mays Drug Warehouse till January of "09 when I retired from Pharmacy. I still keep my Pharmacy license active so I can go back to work if I want to do so.
My hobbies are Military History and collecting beer cans and breweriana. As to my marital status, I have never been married and have remained single all my life. As to awards, etc. I graduated Pharmacy Cum Laude, was the co-editor of the book BCCA Guide to United States Beer Cans, Tab Tops, served 2-two year terms on the Board of Directors of the Brewery Collectors Club of America, and was awarded BCCA Hall of Fame and BCCA Presidential Award.
