Hal Hopkins

Hal Braden Hopkins, resident of Bartlesville Care Center, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 26, 2015. Mr Hopkins was born in Bartlesville March 15, 1942, the son of Glenn Hal and Kathryn Braden Hopkins, who preceded him in death. Hal Hopkins gaduated from College High School in 1960 and Oklahoma State University in 1965 where he was a member of the Delta Chi Fraternity.
He bagan his lifelong banking career at First National Bank of Bartlesville. Mr Hopkins was a member of the First Christian Church and was a 32 Degree Mason. He was known for his love of the outdoors, hunting and fishing, (he passed both activities down to future generations) his friendly disposition and his keen business mind and integrity. After working in banking in Oklahoma, Colorado, Kansas and Iowa, he returned to Bartlesville in his later years. Mr Hopkins participated in civic organizations in various communities, as well as being a School Board member in Inman, Kansas.

He is survived by three children, Shelley (John) Gardner of Rose Hill, Kansas, Carmen (Greg) Chopp of Lenexa, Kansas and Braden (Ashley) Hopkins of Park City, Utah, and nine grandchildren. The family will receive visitors at Arnold Moore and Keekamp Funeral home on January 9. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Bartlesville Animal Shelter are appreciated. Donations will be received at the Washington County SPCA.
