After I graduated from Col-Hi, I received a B.S. degree in Medical Technology from OU. I married my college sweetheart, Dr. Dale W. Davis. After he received his Ph.D. in English, we moved to Lubbock, TX where Dale was professor of English Literature for 31 years. We have 2 children, Debra and Alan. Currently Debra is trombone professor at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX. Alan had muscular dystrophy and died at age 19. My role in life seemed to be helping my husband and daughter earn their doctorates. |

After Alan died, I went back to school an became a dyslexia specialist so I could teach students with this problem how to read. I taught students at the Scottish Rite Learning Center of West Texas. I also became a Master Instructor which gave me the credentials that I needed to train teachers. Lat ter, I instigated a program for adults with dyslexia at the Reading Coalition of Lubbock.
In 2005 Dale and I moved to Nacogdoches, TX to be near our daughter and grandchildren, Rachel now 13 and Jordan now 8.
Unfortunately Dale passed away 2 years ago of cancer. But I am happy to be near my family. Besides being a doting grandmother, I am quite active in my church, Christ Episcopal, am on the Board of Friends of Music, and am chaplain for Daughters of the American Revolution. I enjoy work king on my piney woods acreage, reading, going to concerts and plays and traveling.
