David Groebe
1964 was a year of change for me. I graduated from KU, started my career at TWA, married my wife, Carol, and joined the Village Presbyterian Church. I stayed with TWA until its end (38 years). Now I do part time work at a computer consulting company. I am still quite satisfied with my choice of Carol (of 46 years) and Village Church. We were trained as Association for Marriage Enrichment leaders and have led couples retreats. I'm very proud of my 4 boys and 4 lovely daughters-in-law plus revel in my relationships with my 6 grandchildren.
Music has been my primary avocation: Before 1985 it was vocal - church choir and an auditioned chorale. In 1985 I went back to my trombone (after a 25 year hiatus) and now play in 2 bands, a brass choir and a quintet. Other interests now include a little wood working, landscape gardening, helping my kids with house maintenance (we rehabbed a couple of houses) and helping friends with their computer questions.
Who was my favorite teacher: Frank Robinson. . . . music was my thing. I had 3 years with him and served as his student ass sistant. Which teacher did you most fear: Miss Fender (as far as I was concerned, she didn't have a first name). Feared not because of her, but because "Trig" was a foreign language that I never mastered.
