I have been married to Bill (William J.) Thornhill since 1965. We have 3 adopted sons and 4 grandchildren. Our son, Fred, lives near Austin, TX and has a daughter, Tara, and a son, Christopher. Our son, David, lives at Copperas Covve, TX and has a son, Grant, and a daughter, Paige. Our youngest son, Chris, lives in Fort Collins, CO.
After getting my B.A. at Grinnell College, IA, I taught 4th grade in Bartlesville for a year, married and went on to OSU for a MA in Education. We, then, became nomads with IBM (Bill is a Mechanical Engineer). After graduate school we went to Austin, TX, then Lexington, KY, back to Austin, then to Charlotte, NC and are now in Lexington again, where we have been since 1992. Bill is now retired and we are enjoying church activities, friends and traveling.

Some of the unexpected twists and turns I have taken would be making minimal use of my Education degrees, but helping to start and manage a community newspaper in Pflugerville, TX, then helping organize and manage a huge church library in Charlotte which was very satisfying. I guess the most 'beyond my willdest expectations' happening was when, in the early 90's I joined the Catholic Chuurch when my husband, who grew up Catholic but strayed away, decided to return to his Catholic roots. Our church is now a major focus in our lives.
