Rosyn Findlay Miller
I attended Col-Hi through the 10th grade. Then my mother decided I should go to aa girls’ school in Texas my 11th and 12th grade. I met lots of nice girls and I learned to study. After I graduated I went to the University of Kansas where I earned my bachelor’s degree and my license to teach. I married Rod Rogers, also from Kansas University, and we ended up in California. We have one daughter, Julie Rogers, who lives in Long Beach. She and I travel together whenever possible. When she turned 12, I decided that I wanted to go to law school. I was then 35 years old. I graduated after 3 years of study and passed the California state bar exam the first time I took it. Yea!!! I was so excited. Practicing law was a lot more difficult than learning it. Anyway, I worked for a firm that had 7 offices in Southern California. I represented the Spanish speaking clients because Spanish and French were my majors in college.
I am now retired and have enjoyed having the time to learn to paint. I have received many ribbons and am now the President of the Art League. Life is less stressful. There are so many activities here where I live that it is impossible to be bored. I live in a gated community for people over the age of 55. My second husband, Wally Miller, passed away about a year and one-half ago. It has been difficult living alone but I am becoming accustomed to doing so. My life is good and I hope my classmates can say the same. Enjoy the reunion!!
