Andy Faust
After graduating from Col-Hi I attended OU and received a B.A. degree in ’67. I married my wife, Ilona Agoston, in 1975 after meeting her in Pasadena, CA. We were married in Budapest, Hungary. After training my career was spent as a surety producer and underwriter and later becoming an executive.

Surety is a specialized area of the property-casualty insurance industry. I started in ’68 with Aetna Casualty & Surety and had several changes. At one time I owned my own company in California but sold it. I finished my career as President of a surety company and we sold the company in 2004. We have 3 children: Katherine (’76), Elizabeth (’78) and Andy III (’82) and one grandson.

My favorite teacher was: Bill Holbrook (Gym) because he did not require homework or preparation.. My most feared teacher was: Ms. Carlton because she might have called on me for something.

Something you have done since high school that no one would believe: In ’76, I and a friend were special guests of the L.A. Dodgers for the weekend at their annual “old timers” game. We were the only people there who were not former star major league baseball players and/or owners and coaching staff. I still do not believe it myself.

Goal to be accomplished: To enjoy to the best of my ability the remainder of my life. Tell a funny story about a classmate and yourself: In a Pony League sectional tournament in TX we lost in the finals because a classmate failed to say “kiddie T-shirts 25 cents each” on the way to the ballpark . Another one was a classmate met his future wife only because I had an auto accident on our way back to Norman after a weekend lark which was extended because of the accident. My car was “broke”. We stayed a couple of extra days and took the bus back to Normman. Life’s little twists: Currently we own 2 private schools in Tallahassee, FL. One is an early learning center for 3 yr.-K and the other is for K-12. I never dreamed I would be signing high school diplomas. Which classmates would you like to show up at the reunion: All because I try to avoid desperate situations at all costs. Something that you have learned that you would like to share: Remember with smiles all of the good times; Except as a learning experience, do not dwell on the bad times; enjoy today to the best of your ability; and look forward to tomorrow and the adventures, good times and challenges it will bring.
