Mr. Robert Wyant Emerson, 67, of Bartlesville, died at 2:45 p.m. Monday April 5, 2010 at the Jane Phillips Medical Center.
Memorial services for Mr. Emerson were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 12, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Andrew Odom officiating. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
A memorial has been established and those who wish to make contributions in Mr. Emerson's memory may do so to Habitat for Humanity, P.O. Box 1284, Bartlesville, Oklahoma, 74005.

Mr. Emerson was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma on April 27, 1942 the son of William Arthur and Frances Mae (Wyant) Emerson. He grew up and received his education in Bartlesville graduating from College High School in 1960. He attended the University of Kansas where he earned a double major in Business and Civil Engineering. He also received his Masters degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois.
Mr. Emerson was married to Elizabeth Cole "Betsy" Eckels at Kansas City, Missouri on January 6, 1968. They made their home in Bartlesville and Mr. Emerson began his employment with Phillips Petroleum Company in January of 1968. Mr.and Mrs. Emerson also made their home at various other locations on assignments with Phillips but always returned to Bartlesville to live and Mr. Emerson retired in 2000.
He was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society, the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Society and the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. He was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church, a 22 year member of the 66 Federal Credit Union Board and was an active volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.
Survivors include his wife, Betsy Emerson of Bartlesville, one daughter Laura Allen and her husband David of Leawood, Kansas, one son, John Emerson and his wife Sarah of Prairie Village, Kansas, one brother, William James Emerson of Plano, Texas, two sisters, Virginia Emerson Brooks of Ocala, Florida and Martha Emerson Kreye of Tampa, Florida and four grandchildren. Mr. Emerson was preceded in death by his parents.
