Unlike a lot of you, I am still working, full time and sometimes more than full time but still having fun doing it every day. I'm in charge of Technical Services at the library on the OU campus in Tulsa. For all of you non-library types, that means I manage all the "stuff" like print, electronic and anything else the University throws our way. Our campus is at the corner of 41st and Yale on the site of the old Amoco research facility and growing fast. We have all graduate-level programs in both health sciences and academic departments. I am glad the reunion is this year because at this time next year we will have just moved into our brand new, beautiful, two-story all-for-us building - and I'll have even more "stuff" to deal with every day. At this point I'm not even sure what the word "retirement" could possibly mean!!
I have 2 grown children, plus a schnauzer (who will never grow up). My son, Paul, is an acoustical engineer who works for an engineering consulting firm in Mountain View, CA, when he isn't on assignment to who-knows-where. My daughter, Carla, lives in Chicago, where she is an opera/classic singer. Right now she is a member of the Lyric Opera Chorus and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Chorus, plus numerous other less-regular jobs. The picture that you see is of the two of us in Aspen last year, where she had a part in one of the operas at the summer festival. No grandchildren, so I'll be glad to look at pictures of yours. |
