College at W&L in Lexington, VA was 4 great years and two of our children went to law school there so we have made many trips back. ..Then 4 years spent in St. Louis in medical school at Washington University. ..Our time in St. Louis confirmed us as Cardinal baseball fans and we sometimes get back for a game... Louise and I married in 1966 after we met in Virginia where she was also in college at Randolph- Macon Women's College. ..We lived in Denver for 3 years and then in Augusta, GA for 2 years where I served in the U.S. Army.
Since 1973 we have lived in Tulsa where I practice Pediatrics. ..A few years ago a long planned and beautiful children's hospital at St. Francis was completed and I enjoyed participating in that effort. We have 3 children: Mary Caroline, Will and Sarah. ..All the kids went to Princeton, along with Will's wife, Samara. ..All of our children went to law school as well as Louise and our son-in-law, Will Sugden who met Mary Caroline at Vanderbilt where they were both in school. ..Mary Caroline also has a history doctorate from John Hopkins and Sarah an M Phil in Classics from Pembroke College Cambridge. ..Over the years we have all been a part of several fine Episcopal parishes large and small and have taught classes and participated in other ways in parish life.
We spend a lot of our time traveling to see our 3 grandchildren in Atlanta and Annapolis and to Sarah, our daughter, who is a law professor in Ohio. ..We also spend much of our time off at a family place on Caddo Lake in Texas, which once belonged to Louise's grandparents, and some at the cabin at Davies Farm on Petit Jean Mountain in Arkansas... Our son, Will served in Iraq as a U.S. Navy reservist in Annapolis but is back home at the Bingham law firm in Washington, D.C., where he is a partner.
Over the years we have enjoyed holidays at home and abroad - our favorites: canoeing on the Buffalo River in Arkansas, sailing on the Norfolk Broads in England, walking holidays in England and spending time on our own in Scotland, the Holy Land and Italy... I like building wooden boats and have quite a few at our place in Texas in the boathouses there. ..We will be in Texas during the reunion and are sorry to miss seeing old friends. I am working on retiring sometime--in the meantime I am taking more time...
