William Lee Casey

William (Bill) Lee Casey went to be with his Heavenly Father on December 5, 2016 with his family by his side. Bill was born in Welling, Oklahoma on January 18, 1942 to Grover Merle Casey and Evelyn Caviness. He attended Lincoln Elementary School in Bartlesville, Oklahoma and graduated from College High in 1959. Bill then enlisted in the Army on July 31, 1959 and served as a military police officer until July 30, 1965. After the Army, Bill was employed by Miller Brothers and as an over the road trucker for 20 plus years then the last 15 years was for American Airlines before retiring.
Bill was the owner and operator of B.C. Fireworks and truly loved his fireworks. Bill also loved fishing and telling fish stories that would leave one crying in laughter when he was finished. One of his greatest pleasures was teaching his grandson Cody Wayne to fish. He was also a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the OU Sooners. He loved going out on the hill with his casino buddy Louis Harvey.

Bill was very passionate about sponsoring the Little League teams. He enjoyed doing this for more than 25 years. Bill had a generous heart, with many receiving his help anonymously throughout the years.

After his military service, Bill met the girl he would spend the next 53 ½ years with. He married Shirley Goins on July 5, 1963. They lived their entire married life in the Dewey, Oklahoma area. From this union came three wonderful, ornery children. He enjoyed his great grandson, Cody River for the last three months of his life.

Bill loved his pets. He and Shirley adopted two stray animals that became family. They loved Inky the cat and Little Britches the dog. Little Britches was Bill’s riding companion and loved to go places with him.

Bill is survived by his wife Shirley of the home; daughter Shonda Casey Ogans and husband Zanford of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; grandson Cody Coke and wife Christi of Dewey, Oklahoma; great grandson Cody River of Dewey, Oklahoma; Brother Melvin Merle Casey of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Uncle Ted Caviness and wife Sue of Golden Valley, Arizona and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents Merle and Evelyn Casey; stepfather Lambert Taube; brother Cecil Dan Casey and two sons, Michael Lee Casey and Timothy Lee Casey. Graveside services will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, December 9, 2016 at the Dewey Cemetery with Reverend Charles McKnight officiating. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Cody Coke, Wayne Hacker, Roy Caviness, Zanford Ogans, Louis Harvey, Terry Caviness, Ronnie Caviness and Ted Caviness.
