George Kenneth Bluejacket Jr., age 73, of Norman, formerly of Newcastle, Oklahoma passed away Friday, January 08, 2016 at Norman Regional Hospital. He was born on Oct. 25, 1942 in Bartlesville, OK. He was the 5th child of six children born to George Kenneth Bluejacket and Hazel Doris "McDonald" Bluejacket. George grew up in Bartlesville and graduated from College High School in Bartlesville with the class of 1960. |

After high school he proudly served his country by enlisting into the U.S. Army, serving two years in Germany. After his service in the Army, he returned home to Bartlesville and there he met his wife to be, Rebecca Hurtado. They later married on Nov. 19, 1966 and together they raised one daughter, Leslie. While in a high school shop class, George started his lifelong career as a carpenter. He loved working with his hands and was a gifted carpenter and master craftsman of wood. He retired from working for Nemecek Interiors Construction in OKC after 28 years with the company.
His family moved to Newcastle in 1990 and only recently moved to Norman to be close to their daughter. George was an OSU and OKC Thunder Basketball Fan. Most of all, he was an avid Norman North Boys High School Soccer Fan. He loved watching soccer and especially loved it when his grandchildren started playing. Over the years he never missed any of their games. After he retired George enjoyed gardening and working on wood and furniture projects in his shop. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, a loving father and Pawpaw. He was a special man and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by: Parents, George and Hazel Bluejacket; Two sisters, Jean Southerland and Dorothy Pruett.
He is survived by: Wife of 49 years, Becky Bluejacket of the home; Daughter, Leslie Liddell of Norman; One brother, Henry Bluejacket and wife Linda of Newcastle; Two sisters, Doris Gastineau of Cabot, AR, Elsie Grozis and husband David of Mt. View, AR; Four grandchildren, Ashley, Landon, Seth and Noah. Also many other nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, Jan. 15, 2016 at Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Newcastle. Arrangements are with Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Newcastle, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Norman North Soccer, 4709 Flint Ridge Circle, Norman, OK. 73072.
