Burial will be in City of Lubbock Cemetery under direction of South Plains Funeral Home.

She died Tuesday at Methodist Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born Nov. 23, 1942, in Portageville, MO. She moved to Lubbock from Bartlesville, OK and graduated from Dunbar High School. She married Leon Curry. She worked at assistant director of Sparrow Dorm at Lubbock State School

She was a member of St. Luke's Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Pamela, Denise and Gaylon Ann, all of Lubbock; a son, Jerome Orvale of Lubbock; her parents, Mr. and Mrs Lawrence Austin of Lawrence, KS; five brothers, James, Mark, Cedric and Kimbro of Lawrence, KS and Lawrence of Wichita, KS; and a grand-daughter.
